Arathi Shashikiran Shetty Junior College (ASJC) currently offers Higher Secondary (HSC) education in the Commerce and Science streams. As a part of Bunts Sangha Mumbai's outreach policy, the institution helps students from all strata of society gain access to quality education that will empower them for a brighter future.

It gives me immense pleasure to pen a few words for our college which aims at developing the intellectual mind and bringing out the potential trapped within young minds.

Our institution is still a baby, and we all must share the responsibilities of taking care and nourishing it. For us, students are the foundation stones of our institution, who rock strong with full determination, willpower and perseverance.

Here at ASJC, as educators and facilitators, we aim at bringing out the best in students through a holistic approach to education. The main focus of the institution is to empower students with sound knowledge, wisdom, experience and training in every possible manner. Where determination, foresightedness and discipline exist, success is inevitable.

Education today means much more than merely acquiring knowledge — it has come to mean an amalgamation of soft skills, technological skills, aesthetic skills and many more. We at ASJC aspire to build a platform for all students so that when they step out into the world outside, they are ready to face the realities and challenges of life.

The academic results are always outstanding, and the college perennially excels in intercollegiate festivals, sports and social events. In this knowledge millennium, we develop critical skills in our students combined with ethics. The support systems used for achieving our objectives include a well-equipped library, techno-savvy classrooms, state-of-the-art computer laboratories and activity centres for students. History of Bunts Sangha

Bunts Sangha, established in 1927, is a socio-cultural organisation of the Bunts community of Mumbai. It endeavours to promote the socio-economic, cultural and educational development of its members — a community dedicated to the welfare not only of its own people but of society at large.

The Bunts Sangha Group is a pioneer in the field of education, with its foray extending back over five decades. The Sangha established two night schools for needy children as early as 1950. These night schools have produced thousands of excellent students — some of them have gone on to become distinguished industrialists, bankers, lawyers, doctors and chartered accountants. The S.M. Shetty School and Jr. College, established in 1998, now imparts education to almost 3000 students every year.

The Bunts Sangha aptly realised the need and importance of higher education. Hence, in its Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2003, the Sangha decided to establish Higher Education Institutions for the needy students of Mumbai. The Higher Education Project Complex at Kurla now hosts a variety of courses like BMS, BSc.IT, BSc. Hospitality Studies, BMM, B.Com Accounts & Finance and B.Com Banking & Insurance — with about 2000+ students. The Sangha has also established a quality management college under the name of UKS Institute of Management Studies and Research, with AICTE approval.
